This multiplayer game was inspired by William's active participation in 'The Odyssey Online Classic' and was programmed over the course of the summer of William's senior year. Although left in a playable, conceptualized state (complete with map editor, shops, trigger tiles, monsters), this application never made it out into the wild.
This C++/DirectX game used a Microsoft Access database on the server side and client and server executables were separate, unlike in Speed and Exile: Space. The goblet shown in the main screenshot was a Corel3D creation. The third screenshot with the turn-based combat screen was an alternate concept tried out for gameplay reasons.
The demo tiles seen in the screenshots are straight from 'The Odyssey Online Classic', with permission from Justin Schumacher as long as the tiles didn't make it to the final game.
You can see in the screenshots that some parts of this game were the genesis for Castle of Heroes.
