This UC San Diego website is a compilation of university affiliated efforts within the San Diego community. In addition to a searchable database, the interface uses the Google Maps API to display and sort by program and/or region.

From conceptualization to initial launch, this site was completed in a week, and is currently maintained by UC San Diego staff. Some features that were discussed but not implemented include: 1) Calendar of events, 2) Event listing by school, 3) Program contact information by school/event, 4) Photo gallery/highlights of past events and programs. Hopefully by listing them here, some of these features may sneak their way onto the site in the future.

An interesting note here is that the photo shown in the main screenshot on this page includes photography by Sam Chen, a former student worker at UCSD and now the proprietor of Custom PC Review. This photo, which is of the Rady School of Management, did not make it into production because Geisel Library was ultimately determined to be a better representation of UCSD.
