This Symfony2 project was created to provide a resource for local recreational activities. This includes facility listings (operating hours, facility features), recreational league listings, and community events.
User profiles are expanded beyond traditional features by incorporating customized sport profile ratings. Users are able to rate each other on a variety of physical and mental attributes directly related to performance in a particular sport in order to gauge what their peers think of them. Examples include shooting range and accuracy for basketball, arm strength for baseball, and tackling for football.
Long term, the goal behind Sportsflare is to incorporate special recreational league management and payment systems to help facilitate both adult and youth leagues with scheduling, communication, and other logistics. These features may yet be developed at a later time with enough interest.
This project has gone through extensive revision over the years, starting as a SolidFramework site, being refactored into a Symfony 1.2 project, and then again into a Symfony 2 project.
In 2013, the sportsflare.com domain was not renewed and the website has been moved to a subdomain under solidcoding.com
